New Places, New Ears
WebTalkGuys keeps popping up in new places. Here are a few new ones:
WindowsMedia.com and Player Media Guide
While we've been in both places for years, the nice guy at Microsoft who's in charge of featuring content, called Friday to say he's featuring us on the Radio News & Talk page. Seems we're knocking off the BBC, whose stream was not always reliable:
http://windowsmedia.com/mediaguide/newsradio (Look for the little graphic)
We're also in the "Market Watch" section of the Media Guide.
Microsoft's Plus! Sync & Go
Get Sync & Go for your Pocket PC and you can listen to WebTalkGuys. We've become the 13th worldwide content provider of Microsoft's Plus! Sync & Go audio and video software for Pocket PC's and Smart Phones. Plus! Sync & Go is used to transfer audio and video between Windows XP desktop computer and Pocket PC.
RealOne Radio Tuner
Either in your RealOne Player or at this page, you can find us. Finally - Real came through!
WindowsMedia Mobile edition
Fits in your PDA screen. Under both News and Business.
RealOne Mobile for Nokia Series 60 Phones
We will be there this week as well as RealOne for Pocket PC

Honolulu Berts Byte Marks
What a nice surprise!
While clicking through the WebTalkGuys referrer links which tells us what sites are linking to us, I found a healthy amount of surfers came to our site from a an article in the "Honolulu Advertiser". The columnist, Burt Lum, did a piece on discovering talk radio on the net. He profiled WebTalkGuys as well as close personal tech talker Ken Rutkowski of KenRadio.
Burt kindly allowed me to link to his column. Read on!
Web radio is not just about music

Help Name That Radio Show
WebTalkGuys will soon be launching a 5 day/week 2-minute soundbyte of tech information on about 900 radio stations and we need your help.
We want some ideas as to what to call this short-form “vignette”, as they call it in radio. Help us think of a name – preferably something that has an available “.com” to go along with it. The name should imply the content of the vignette which is to share trends, news or advice regarding the Internet. Some ideas are “Future Tech”, “This Digital Life”, “Web Link” or “Click Talk” – but we’re looking for something even better – so put on your thinking caps for WebTalkGuys!

Fun "WebTalkGuys" Promos from the Past
Thank you to the very talented and musical R. Dan Park of Houston, Texas for creating two witty promos for our radio show. Dan's been a supportive listener and buddy since we started broadcasting in 1999. He's a hardcore techie and works with independent Christian recording artists.
Some of the references in these clips refer to co-hosts from the past - which you can still hear if you go WAY back in our show archives:
1. RealOne Audio; 1:38 min.
WebTalk Wizard of Oz
2. RealOne Audio; 1:52 min. - with SMIL images in the player
The Brady WebTalkGuys Bunch
If you enjoyed these, let Dan Park (rdpark@hal-pc.org) or myself (dana@webtalkguys.com) know. If you feel inspired to create something along these lines, we'll air it on the show.
